Doodle Maker is a program designed to jumpstart the creative sketching process, generating random shapes that invites users to add their own marks and create unique drawings. It is inspired by the Scribble Game, where one person draws a random squiggle and another tries to turn it into something recognizable.
I developed the Doodle Maker as a way to eliminate the fear of the BLANK CANVAS.
Below is a collection of process shots and doodles. The Doodle Maker was field tested in the general public at MassArt and at the CyberArts gallery. I designed the physical interface to overlay the Wacom tablet so users can easily change tools, save, and start new drawings. Doodlers of all ages and skills contributed to the Doodle Depository, resulting in over 100 unique drawings!
You can download the working prototype Processing Sketch here. (I am currently working on exporting it to a web based platform, stay tuned!)
